FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Phillip Island G.P.Circuit, 16/17 June.Maurice Rissman, breakthrough victory! Newly B graded Bears F1 Racing Team member Maurice Rissman #78, Ducati 996 SPS,garnered his first ever race win atPhillip Island G.P. Circuit, during the Formula Xtreme Pro-Twins series. Rissman, who onlyseven months ago was a humble D-grade novice, beat Craig Mc Martin, Peter Hinton and Mike Soderland, who are all experienced A graders. "I was fortunate, Craig's bike suffered a slipping clutch, and I like the wet." said the gallant Rissman. Fellow competitors cheered him as he re entered the pits, and Craig Mc Martin was one of the first to offer congratulations, "It was Maurice's first ever victory, that's always special" said the series leader. In a weekend that most teams would prefer to forget, Peter Hinton consolidated his position, in third place whilst many others crashed in the changeable mid winter conditions! "We didn't crash, and we were lucky with tyre choices" said the legendary rider. "That makes us fortunate compared to many of our competitors!" he said. Second placed Mike Soderland #72 Ducati 996, was one of the unlucky ones. "I had an off, and Maurice lent me a spare bike, then 1/2 a lap from home it got a flat battery, I'm going to try and forget this meeting and focus on the grand finale, at Eastern Creek." he said.
