Queensland Raceway: Rd 3
FX Pro-Twins.
Both members of the Bears F1 Racing Team, had excellent results at the Queensland round of
the series. Peter Hinton, (Ducati 996 Strada, #28) improved his qualifying position
of 7th place to finish the weekend, 2nd, overall, with a 4th and three 2nds. The
final race being held in heavy rain.
"The bike is getting better each time I ride it, it was my first "wet" race
on the Ducati, and I was able to keep my head down and try to catch Craig (Mc Martin,
Ducati 996SPS, #11)"
Mc Martin was in a class of his own, winning four from four, with Hinton only two
onehundreths of a second in arrears. This effectively brought an end to the
total domination of the class by Mike Soderland, (Ducati 955, #72).
Soderland finished 10th in the final race, playing safe, and battling worsening flu.
Maurice Rissman, (Ducati 996SPS, #78) finished the weekend garnering valuable points, and
continuing his outstanding recent form. Top ten finishes in all but the last (wet) race,
and only one small indiscretion, characterized the weekend for the up and coming Rissman.
"I felt good all weekend, except for my little 'off' in practice, and managed to
finish all my races, in one, I got a 5th, against the 'guns', when I got home, I'd
been "B" graded, it was the best trophy I could have hoped
for".
Rissman had consistently been the highest "C" grader.The Bears F1 Racing
Team will prepare for Rd 4, at Phillip Island, both riders are keen to consolidate their
positions and experience the famous circuit, the scene of some of Hintons finest
victories.
