RD 2. 'HONDA PRO TWINS, F/XTREME'

SODERLAND BLITZES THE FIELD AGAIN!

Gowanloch Ducati rider Mike (the bike) Soderland, continued his total domination of the Pro-Twins category, at Oran Park, Sunday. The former 6-hr and National Bears (Heritage) Champion, made it 4 from 4, posting a 1.13.3 into the bargain, often winning by the length of the straight! "Everything came together perfectly, and we had a rewarding weekend, that's for sure" smiled the affable champ.

Meanwhile it was a Ducati, 1-2-3, for the weekend, emulating the Rd1 result. Craig McMartin and Peter Hinton garnering 2nd and 3rd, respectively. For the second time, in the series, Hinton led Soderland, prior to tyre woes influencing the outcome "We've consolidated our position, and the bike is improving all the time, but Mikey is something special!" said a satisfied Hinton. "It's a great result for Ducati".

The last time, the Bears F1 Racing Team had been to the track, at an invitation day, hosted by MCRC, they had come away with 5 from 5 wins, 2, 1-2's, and 1, 1-2-3! It was a fine result and Maurice Rissman put the learning curve to good use in the 3rd leg when he surprised the field with a great start, and was 2nd for a lap behind Soderland. "They came past like a A grade freight train" said Maurice, "but I liked being there, soon I hope to make it stick" Rissman was one of the best C graders on the day. "It was a good weekend for us, and our sponsors, we had many visitors in our pit during the 3 days, Ducati, Aprilia, and Honda, all stopped in to say 'g'day', and we did some television, so it was a busy time." said Mal Cherlin Team Manager. "congratulations to Terry O'Neil for putting on such a professional well run meeting, it also had a nice 'feel' to it". Honda's Rob Carrall (VTR) was 4th.
