HONDA FX PRO-TWINS- Phillip Island
Craig McMartin looked set to continue his winning ways from the Queensland round as he
took pole position by almost a second from Adrian Pierpoint who was mounted on a similar
Ducati 996SPS.
Starting from pole, the Wagga resident looked to have the opening race in the bag until
his clutch gave way on the final lap allowing Maurice Rissman (BEARS Racing Ducati 916SP)
to slip by on the line to take out his first race win by an amazing 0.1 of a second.
With his clutch problems sorted, McMartin was unstoppable in the next three races and
took his overall points tally in the Honda FX Pro-Twins to 347 points, ahead of Mike
Soderland (Gowanloch Eng. Ducati 916SP) who has 279 after a difficult weekend.

in race three. The final six lap journey saw McMartin well out in front again, this time
chased home by Adrian Pierpoint (Ducati 996SPS) and Stuart Fripp ( Pro Cycles Suzuki TLR).
Peter Morgan (MCA Ducati 748R) still leads the BEARS class, but had to contend with
some formidable opposition from Victorian Roger Wallis (Wallis Racing Ducati 916SP).
Morgan finished the weekend with two wins and two seconds, with Wallis taking two wins a
second and a dnf in race one.
Aaron Underwood (GJR Eng. SRX600) played the consistency card picking up four second
